Current Business Report 2007 BioRegio Regensburg

With the start of the New Year BioPark Regensburg GmbH has presented its new business figures for the region. According to this report the number of companies in East Bavaria is stabile at 40 and the number of employees has risen from 1,703 to 2,429. With 22 leaseholders and 500 employees covering 12,000 sqm fully booked out, BioPark in Regensburg has reached the limits of its capacity.

Fraunhofer Project Group starting in BioPark Regensburg

Since autumn of 2007 the project group "Tumour and Metabolic Disease” of the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine (ITEM) in the BioPark has being taking up its work. Together with the Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine at the  University of Regensburg, the acquired complementarities of the competences in methodology and knowledge of illness of the partners in cooperation from Hanover and Regensburg will be combined.

New Risk Capital Fund BayBG-EFRE for Innovation

The BayBG Bavarian joint venture company is announcing the start of a further risk capital fund for midsized businesses from the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE). Enterprises in the East Bavarian area are one of the target groups. A further 20 million € is available for this purpose for innovative firms.

GENEART is offering BTA training in the BioPark for the first time

As the first company in BioPark Regensburg, the firm Geneart is to immediately start training biology laboratory technicians (BTA). The company is thereby not only developing itself into one of the most important employers in the Biotechnology Centre, but also into one of the first training operations for BTAs in Regensburg.

BioPark Regensburg – Winners in the Land of Ideas Competition

BioPark Regensburg GmbH is “Selected Location in the Land of Ideas” and thereby part of the row of events “365 Locations in the Land of Ideas 2008”. Also the Jose Carreras Centre for Somatic Cell Therapy at the Clinic of the University Regensburg and the BEO Alliance for Self Sufficient Energy East Bavaria were successful in the competition and show that the future is being made in Regensburg.
