Amgen Research GmbH successful in Regensburg

Amgen Research GmbH has been established in BioPark, Regensburg since 2004. The parent company, Amgen, is the largest biotech company in the world, employing 17,000 people, 2500 of them in Europe and 220 in Germany. The German research facility is a key component of Amgen’s international R&D organization.

Training Centre for clinical studies started at BioPark

At BioPark Regensburg a training centre has started up for the management of clinical training. The programmes are primarily designed for student nurses, study coordinators, monitors and doctors working in the field of clinical trials, who deal with clinical studies of new medicines.

Current business report 2008 for BioRegio Regensburg

Also at the beginning of the crisis year of 2008, the development of the life science companies in BioRegio Regensburg demonstrated considerable stability. The new business figures from BioPark Regensburg GmbH for the region have seen the number of companies in East Bavaria to be stable at 40. The number of employees rose slightly from 2,429 in the previous year to 2,586. Dr. Thomas Diefenthal has extended his contract as managing director of BioPark Regensburg GmbH  and thereby continuing the successful collaboration of all active parties in the region.

NOW Hyglos - Profos AG is purchased by private investors

The biotechnology company founded as Profos AG located in BioPark Regensburg has been purchased by new investors, and started the business year of 2009 as Hyglos GmbH. The new owners of the company are investors from scientific and business fields (Hyglos Invest GmbH, bioMérieux S.A.).
