Start of a new Dimension of Networking
Barrier-free internet for everyone is still in its infancy here. This is on the one hand because of the legislation, and on the other hand due to a lack of development of the fiber optic network. And this even though communication is so vital for innovation, in particular in a technology and start-up center like the BioPark. The regional communication service R-KOM has therefore developed a future-focused vision that is already being put into action: the fiber optic East Bavarian hotspots.
The three BioPark buildings have already been linked up to the fiber optic network from R-KOM since 2006 and have been regularly adapted to state-of-the-art technology. As of now the hot spot can be used in the entrance areas to BioPark I, II und III, and in the lecture theater in BioPark I and the conference area in BioPark III. Per day and device there are two hours of free internet available. Capture of data does not take place. Furthermore subject to charge premium surf passes ranging from 24 hours to 7 days can be obtained. For leaseholders at the BioPark, with room booking of the lecture theater and the conference rooms the free use of the internet for the duration of the event is naturally available.
