Projectmanager for the BioPark Jump Accelerator

For BioPark Regensburg GmbH, a company of the city of Regensburg, the promotion of innovation and start-ups in the field of health care in Regensburg and in the region of Eastern Bavaria is a focus. This requires special knowledge and therefore support, especially for the regulated healthcare market. With BioPark Jump, a previously non-existent contact point will be created. BioPark Jump supports prospective start-ups in the early start-up phases on their way into the healthcare market, from the idea and the development of a functioning business model, through team building and raising funds to commercialization. The project is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Dr. Alexandra Sauter, a project manager experienced in health issues, has been able to be acquired. Dr. Sauter first studied sociology and public health at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of TromsØ in Norway. She completed her doctorate under the professorship for medical sociology in Regensburg and was most recently a researcher at the Institute for Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Regensburg. Here she gained project experience in the field of health promotion and behavior in cooperation with health insurance companies, national research associations and health projects, the results of which she has published in relevant scientific journals.

Most start-up programs are technology- and not industry-oriented. This usually means that the development of an innovative technology and the so-called entrepreneurship essentials are primarily refined over a longer period of time. This is also important in the healthcare industry, but not sufficient, as the hurdles are higher here than in other sectors and sector-specific issues such as certification, reimbursement and clinical evidence should be addressed at an early stage. Here BioPark-Jump as Healthcare Accelerator Regensburg should remedy the situation.

In addition to the expertise of Dr. Sauter, Cluster Manager Dr. Ilja Hagen and BioPark Managing Director Dr. Thomas Diefenthal support the teams. Both bring many years of experience in start-up consulting and to the special requirements in the approval for the manufacture, marketing and distribution of medical products. In addition, the start-up network BioPark Brain 8 Network with selected experts and the Techniker Krankenkasse are available to answer questions about regulatory affairs or the mandatory reimbursement options. The Healthcare Regensburg network includes users from clinics and care facilities, health insurance companies, manufacturing companies and people with many years of experience in the field of certification and reimbursement. BioPark Jump will work closely with the existing start-up networks, universities and industrial partners.
