Profos wins second price in MediaAward 2004

The Profos AG, located at BioPark Regensburg, uses technology derived from the natural enemies of bacteria – bacteriophages – for an astonishingly effective way to detect and isolate bacteria and selected bacterial components and derived compounds. Established in 2000, the company developed out of the University of Regensburg, with today 21 employees. The Profos proprietary know-how and experience in protein biochemistry and phage technology has lead to the rapid development of products for endotoxin removal, and high throughput protein purification. Products for the selective lysis of bacteria and next generation, specific bacterial capture devices are well advanced in the development pipeline. The Profos technology is covered by IP families comprising 12 granted and further pending patents.
