PreSens develops sensors with European Partners
Whether for tissue engineering for regenerative medicine or for the manufacturing of cell therapy products, first and foremost this is about the safe and reproducible replication of cell culture. This is about the continual surveying of the metabolic acivity of cells and their growth. Here PreSens is able to contribute to the development of novel cultivation devices with its non-invasive sensor systems. Together with its European partners the PreSens engineers are working on the integration of chemical optical sensor technology with types of sealed bioreactor systems with whose help cell proliferation will be more time-effective through automation and be conducted more safely. In the EU Project “Bio-Comet“ for example the development of a system for the culture of tissue in clinically relevant magnitude is being planned. Meanwhile the EU Project “REACH“ in cooperation with partners from the Netherlands and Great Britain has the goal of developing an enclosed platform in which cells can be replicated. “Sensors Made in Regensburg“ is behind all of these projects.
