Opening Ceremony of BioPark II & 10 Years of BioRegio
BioRegio Regensburg is looking back on 10 years of successful development. "What started as a driving force from the City and the University with a handful of companies following the BioRegio Competition in 1996 and the BioPark with 12,000 sqm have blossomed into their very own cluster in the region", stated CEO Dr. Thomas Diefenthal confirming these dynamic developments in recent years. Today there are 41 Life Science companies with 1,300 employees active in the region, BioRegio Regensburg having become the second largest Biotechology Cluster in Bavaria following Munich. The celebrations will be officially opened on Friday 23rd of June by Prime Minister Dr. Edmund Stoiber. On the following Saturday 24th of June the BioPark will have an open day for the public on the university campus with lectures and an art competition on the theme of biotechnology. The festivities will culminate with a BioPark party for the successful leaseholders.
