New Website for BioPark Regensburg GmbH

(No. 267) In order to do justice to the constant growth and ever new tasks in the BioPark and the cluster, we have modernized and adapted our website. Particular attention has  also been paid to data protection and security.

How time flies! The first BioPark Regensburg GmbH website went online in 2000, and new versions followed regularly, the last in 2015 with links to LinkedIN, XING and YouTube. In the meantime, BioPark Regensburg has continued to develop and with new activities, e.g. in the healthcare sector (Healthcare Regensburg), the BioPark Innovation Prize or start-up support (BioPark Jump), the circle of players in the cluster and at the location has constantly expanded. A new homepage was created over the course of the last year to deal with ever new tasks and increasing requirements for data protection and cyber security. Graphic design was again the responsibility of bauer.com GmbH, which received marketing awards in 2018 and 2022. "With the slogan "Science & Life" we have managed very well in the last 25 years to link the top-class business and science location with Regensburg in the old town, which is a pleasure to live in," explained Hans Bauer.

Due to the intensive international business relationships of the BioPark and the companies in the Regensburg Bioregion Cluster, the homepage and all press releases were and are available in an English version. "The high access rates from home and abroad document the importance of the BioPark website in location marketing," added Christian Ziegler. His company (avevita internet service, Kiefersfelden) programmed the website.

The new website features a modern content management system that ensures user-friendly and intuitive navigation and maintenance of the website. Particular attention was paid to data protection and security, both in terms of programming and server architecture. By developing our own API (programming interface) for actor management, the actors can be managed, sorted and displayed quickly and easily. Other extensions specially programmed for the BioPark round off the overall package. Another important aspect in the development of the website was the responsive display of the content to ensure an optimal user experience on all devices.

The new homepage will soon be supplemented by various separate "landing pages", e.g. for the BioPark Innovation Prize at the Regensburg universities, the start-up support project BioPark Jump (Healthcare Accelerator) or the Regensburg Start-Up Guide. "This allows us to address the respective target groups even more precisely," commented BioPark Cluster Manager Dr. Ilja Hagen. Managing Director Dr. Thomas Diefenthal, who is also ambassador of the city of Regensburg, sees the new English-language website as an ideal tool for location marketing. “I often stand at the Bavarian joint stands of Bayern International at important leading trade fairs around the world.
