New Pharmaceutical Joint Venture in Regensburg

AMAREG, a complete and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standard company, with approx. 120 employees, manufactures various pharmaceuticals. The medicines are package in all possible forms i.e. salves, creams, gels, liquids, vials, powders mixes, granulates, myriad tablets and hard gelatin capsules. The new Regensburg company will continue to offer the complete of Haupt Pharma products. AMAREG specializes in cytostatica and cortisone products, in separately designated departments, and continues to further develop these as its core competence.
Regensburg has a long history in pharmaceutical tradition. As early as 1874, Dr. Friedrich von Heyden founded the salicylic acid factory which established its international cooperation with Squibb Corp., New York in 1956 and became a subsidiary of the International Squibb Corporation in 1969. After the fusion of Bristol-Meyers Squibb (BMS) the Regensburg site developed into one of the most up to date plants in the corporation by 1995. In the course of the global restructuring processes in the pharmaceutical industry, and after several interim owners, Wülfing Holding GmbH took over the majority percent of Haupt Pharma Regensburg GmbH, from the Haupt Pharma Berlin AG, in the summer of 2003. Wülfing enriches BioRegio Regensburg, with qualified pharmaceutical competence in the field of production, through AMAREG GmbH, which guarantees product safety with its state-of-the-art set up.
