Joint forces for Regensburg as research location

Graf Lerchenfeld wished for attention to be paid to the unique campus for research and science in Regensburg when the State Secretary from the Ministry of Research and Education visited. The connection between universities, research institutes and companies offers enormous potential for the future. In a conversation with the Lord Mayor Joachim Wolbergs, BioPark Managing Director Dr. Thomas Diefenthal, the President of the University of Regensburg Professor Dr. Udo Hebel and the  Vice President of the OTH Regensburg Professor Dr. Wolfgang Bock and entrepreneurs from the BioPark, Graf Lerchenfeld emphasized how important it is that Germany also financially promotes innovative growth. This could occur for example via tax incentives for venture capital suggested Graf Lerchenfeld.

The President of the University of Regensburg Prof. Hebel lay great stress on how important the creation of external university research institutions are for the University of Regensburg. Professor Dr. Reinhard Andreesen presented the Regensburg Center for Interventional Immunology (RCI) as a concrete example which is on the way to becoming a Leibniz Institute. OTH Regensburg Vice President Professor Bock requested more programs for applied research. State Secretary Müller was visibly impressed by the Regensburg Campus and emphasized there are a number of connecting factors.
