IRIS Biotech increases turnover and global marketing
IRIS Biotech was founded in 2001 as a spin-off of the global company CFM Oskar Tropitzsch e.K.. Its roots go back to the 24 July 1788, where in Marktredwitz the first German chemical factory was founded. In 1980 the existing CFM Oskar Tropitzsch e.K. of today arose, which manufactures reagents for analysis, biotechnology, specialised chemicals and pharmaceutical raw materials. The product spectrum ranges from fermentation products and phytochemicals through pharmaceutical raw materials and enzymes to animal poisons and metals and metal salt solutions. To secure its market position in segment peptide synthesis and life science IRIS Biotech GmbH was founded in 2001 as a spin-off. In ISO9000 certified factories laboratory standard quantities, bulk quantities to several tonnes are produced in accordance with cGMP standards. Currently over 4000 innovative products for research and commercial production are able to be offered in the fields of drug delivery (PEGylation), drug development (pharmacologically active naturally occurring substances and other interesting building blocks) and peptide synthesis (unusual amino acid derivates and solid-phase reagents). Global marketing was secured via constant expansion of a network spanning the world. Siddhi Vinayaka Spechem P Ltd in Bangalore, India and GIHON-Laboratorios Químicos SRL in Mar del Plata, Argentina are joint venture partners of CFM and IRIS and facilitate production in important states arising in the field. In 2008 over 30% more turnover was achieved than in the previous year and for 2009 the prognosis is for similar growth – despite the financial crisis and recession.
