Regensburg Innovation Day Assistive Systems

Technical innovations are often regarded as beacons of hope and universal problem solvers in healthcare. With their help, people who need support should be able to live in a familiar environment and as independently as possible, the work of specialists in care facilities should be relieved and patients should be supported in treatment and rehabilitation. Digitization in general and, increasingly also artificial intelligence are playing a key role here. Intelligent, networked medical products or service and assistance robots are primarily intended to improve the quality of care and not just its efficiency. The associated human-machine interaction poses challenges for patients and professionals alike.

 

The "Healthcare Regensburg" initiative has been supporting the development of the healthcare industry in the city and region since 2017. The project of BioPark Regensburg GmbH, an enterprise of the City of Regensburg, is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. With regular innovation days, the exchange between regional stakeholders should be promoted in particular and, in cooperation with the universities, the latest research and development results should find their way to patients more quickly.

 

The "Innovation Day Healthcare" is aimed at researchers, manufacturers and users of technical assistance systems in medicine, caregiving and an aging society. New developments and best practice examples will be presented and the potential of artificial intelligence will also be discussed. Another focus of the event is the acceptance of technical innovations by patients and professionals and the challenges that need to be overcome when introducing these into care.

 

A top-class program awaits you in the morning with speakers from the Bavarian Research Center for Digital Care and the Practice Care Center in Nuremberg. Discuss with us about the acceptance problems of technical assistance systems. In the afternoon, companies will present brand new assistance systems in medicine and caregiving and demonstrate examples of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in this area.
