Incubator for Medtech founded at the BioPark

BioPark Regensburg GmbH, an enterprise of the City of Regensburg, has experienced a multitude of start-ups full of potential in the last 20 years. Several successful start-ups, following the sale of the technology they have developed and their company, have channeled their expertise via the BioPark 8 Brain-Network into other start-ups or into innovative ideas at the BioPark or in the Regensburg location and also even founded a further company themselves.

This is also how Dr. Wolfgang Götz, former founder and managing director of the BioPark company Transcatheter Technologies, together with Dipl. Kfm. Marcus Irsfeld started up Prima Medical Technologies GmbH. Behind this there is an incubator for medical technology companies which has the goal of developing new medical products to be licensed and put onto the international market. In doing so the incubator with its experts covers all the necessary stages of an innovation from invention to patent protection, market analysis, development, testing, licensing of the medical products as well as its financing. Prima is planning in the near future the spin-off of several medical technology companies. They will develop innovative medical products for the treatment of blood vessels and the heart, also in collaboration with the OTH Regensburg and the Regensburg University Hospital.
