Health-Cluster Upper Austria is Partner of Regensburg
Since 2004 five Danube cities have been working together in the EU project “Danube Hanseatic League” to coordinate the regional economy between the cities along the Danube and to build up a business alliance. This formed a joint venture (ARGE) between the Danube cities, which has several goals including linking into the regional cluster. In the longer term BioPark in Regensburg and the Health-Cluster (GC) Upper Austria have agreed upon working in close alliance. Linz is two hours by car or train from Regensburg.
The Health-Cluster is, like BioRegio Regensburg, a network spanning many fields to strengthen innovation and the ability of the company to compete at international level in the field of life sciences. Based on its strength in the field of medicine, measurement and control engineering, the speciality of the Health Cluster is medical technology in particular. In addition to the direct exchange of cooperation partners and customers, events and appearances at trade fairs are planned together in 2009. The partnership supports further internationalisation of BioRegio Regensburg and promotes the positioning of the companies of the region, e.g. in projects in the European Union.
