Geneart One of the 10 Most Fascinating Innovations
Judging more than 100 excellent applications, the jury, which included Wolfgang Lerch from the Industrial Research Foundation in Cologne, Harald Ehren, head of „Inside Business“ at the Financial Times and Walter Kaiser from DIHK, picked the ten most fascinating innovations. The competition was held for the first time as a joint effort of the DIHK and FTD. The following aspects were decisive in selecting the winners: the possibility to apply or use the innovation, ability to become self-sufficient on the market, cost advantages, job creation as well as stability with regard to further development.
The Geneart GmbH Company, located in BioPark Regensburg, was honored for its „Anti-body per Mouse click“ business plan. Geneart is able to offer tailored anti-bodies, on the basis of synthetic genes, for research and the production of vaccinations, to the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology companies and research institutes. An email with the sequence information of the coded gene is all that is needed to get things started. Each of the ten winners will be featured, in no specific order, in the Financial Times Deutschland.
