GeneArt is expanding under Life Technologies
From a start-up team to a world concern describes the company GeneArt in BioPark Regensburg. Following its foundation through Regensburg University in 1999, the start-up company was one of the first leaseholders in the BioPark. In 2006 GeneArt was the sole company at the BioPark to be listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and expanded to BioPark II (2006) and to the Industrial Park Regensburg (2008). The take over by a world concern with a turnover of 3.3 billion US $ and 9,000 employees facilitated further internationalisation and rapid growth, as heralded by management at that time. Once GeneArt had been fully integrated into the concern, the company put its new premises in the new building BioPark III into operation. In an area of almost 1,200 m2 the company invested 0.9 million US $ in state-of-the laboratory facilities. The new laboratories primarily serve for research and development of new methods in the field of synthetic biology.
