Geneart AG wins EUROPEAN BIOTECHNICA AWARD 2008

Geneart AG from Regensburg has won the EUROPEAN BIOTECHNICA AWARD 2008. Second place was taken by immatics biotechnologies GmbH based in Tübingen. Third prize went to the British Biotech company Astex Therapeutics Limited from Cambridge. The EUROPEAN BIOTECHNICA AWARD supports young Biotech companies, which with their dedication make a significant contribution to the development of research in Europe. Geneart AG received the prize, as the innovative company, since its entry to into the market in 2000, has revolutionized gene synthesis and raised the production of gene sequences from a manual laboratory process to a highly industrialized level. “Geneart AG is one of the few Biotech companies in Germany, which has sustain ably not only produced turnover, but also profits“, stated Dr. Thomas Diefenthal, Managing Director of the BioPark in Regensburg, thereby developing itself successfully in the initial years. BIOTECHNICA has taken place since 1985 in October in Hanover and is the leading event of the European Biotech branch. BioRegio Regensburg with the BioPark is represented at the joint booth of the Bavarian Biotechnology Cluster.
