Entelechon has most successful fiscal year

The Entelechon GmbH evolved out of the University of Regensburg and has recorded obvious gains in the business fields of genetic synthesis and Protemic services. This development is particularly pleasant because is resulted from the Federal Ministry for Eduaction and Research (bmbf) funded project for green algae. The cooperative work with KFB, Competence Center for Flourescent Bioanalysis, of the University of Regensburg, located in BioPark, spawned the development of a new expression process for the development of enzymes and proteins. Further cooperation with ASA Spezialenzyme GmbH, in Wolfenbüttel, made the system marketable. ASA GmbH, founded in 1991, produces i.e. technical enzymes for industry. The green algae system makes the more humane production of medicines possible, and is being tested in a pilot project between the USA, Israel and Europe. As with all higher forms of plants, green algae needs light and nutrients in order to produce essential substances through photosynthesis. Because algae can be cultivated in closed containers, there is no risk of genetically altered organisms being released into the environment, as can occur with transgene plants.
