Cfm Oskar Tropitzsch Partner in Global Vaccination Project
The sodium salt "thiomersal" is an organic mecury compound, which is used as a preservative in pharmaceutical products to protect these from microbial spoilage and thereby make the products suitable for storage. For the preservation and storage of larger quantities of vaccine doses, for example to be able to react more rapidly to influenza pathogens, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is promoting a project for the storage of key substances. The Argentinian Company Gihon Laboratorios has received a contract to manufacture a respective year’s supply of thiomersal. Cfm Oskar Tropitzsch GmbH from Marktredwitz in the BioRegion Regensburg is a worldwide distribution partner for Gihon Laboratorios and is supporting the project ofstockpiling of contingency inventories through the respective development of inventory supply in Germany and Europe.
