BioPark Regensburg Host of ADT Spring Convention
There are currently 156 innovations centres in the ADT, who have made it their task to promote existing businesses and support new innovative technology companies. In the centres throughout Germany there are about 5,800 companies with 46,000 employees. According to a study by the ADT there have been to date 40,000 company start-ups and 248,000 jobs created in the centres. The association conventions, which take place twice per year, offer members and guests the opportunity to exchange experiences. This year the BioPark as a successful innovation centre on the Danube was able to act as guest on the exciting theme “ADT 2020 – Technology Centres of the Future” inviting participants to Regensburg. The convention was supported via the IHK Regensburg for Upper Palatinate/Kehlheim by the sister company IT Speicher for Upper Palatinate, Facility Management Partners Hochtief AG active in the BioPark and the Götz Group, and other sponsors of the ADT Federal Association (see ADT internet site).
The participants placed the discussion around the future. With demographic development the numbers of graduates and founders in the so-called MINT subjects (Mathematic, IT, Natural Sciences, Technology) will decrease. With the globalisation of the markets, research und innovation will gain more significance in Germany as a country with few raw materials. The convention participants agreed that technology oriented centres can make an important contribution to counteract this development of decreases in the MINT subjects. Public relations work in schools, technology scouting at universities, active start-up promotion and financing, settling of established companies to interdisciplinary networking in regional cluster management were many of the solution approaches on the theme.
