BioPark promotes e-mobility for leaseholders & visitors

At the BioPark and in the BioRegion Regensburg production of green energy is being researched, developed and produced. Schmack Biogas, founded in 1995 in Regensburg, today part of the Viessmann Group, was one of the first companies working in this area in the region and still is today. The companies BioEnergy GmbH and Hyperthermics GmbH  research at the BioPark the manufacturing and optimization of fermentation processes for the biological production and refinement of biogas or hydrogen to produce energy. "Time was ripe to also install our own charging station at the BioPark for leaseholders and visitors in collaboration with the Regensburg energy provider REWAG with 100% eco-power", commented BioPark Managing Director Dr. Thomas Diefenthal on this step forward. "With the provision of the charging station infrastructure REWAG would like to offer the people in Regensburg, and of the region and now also in the BioPark tangible incentives for electromobility", added REWAG Board Chairman Olaf Hermes. Mayor Jürgen Huber, long-serving Supervisory Board Member at BioPark GmbH, demonstrated how easy the charging process is for customers with the REWAG bank card. "E-mobility is becoming virtually easier each month", according to Mayor Huber.

Dieter Daminger, Consultant for Economics, Science and Finance and CFO at BioPark GmbH was delighted that the 11th REWAG charging station was able to be put into operation at the BioPark in the Regensburg urban area. With the E-mobility Cluster Regensburg the city is supporting the technological positioning of this important key issue for the future as part of the promotion of the economy in this location.
