Active Motif Chromeon lets nanoparticles fluorese
Many fluorescent detection assays suffer from poor signal intensity or fast bleaching out of the molecules. To circumvent these effects, Active Motif Chromeon has developed novel fluorescent nanoparticles: hundreds of these molecules are embedded into a matrix and are protected from outside influences via silica-coating. This guarantees higher stability of the products. Furthermore, the surfaces of the only 40nm or 70nm small particles can be customized according to requirements and can be linked to proteins to match different fields of applications.
Active Motif Chromeon GmbH, based in Tegernheim near Regensburg, develops and produces fluorescent dyes and nanoparticles for the life science industry. From its founding in 2005 until now, Active Motif Chromeon maintains co-operations with other companies and research institutions in the Regensburg area on development of new products. The most recent innovation has also been supported by these co-operations. Now its high-quality product inventions are utilized by industrial partners to refine and improve their own products. This kind of OEM- (original equipment manufacturer) business will be further expanded in the near future.
