A German Cancer Award of 2014 goes to Regensburg

The German Cancer Award is funded each year by the German Cancer Society in Berlin and the companies Sanofi-Aventis, Amgen and Pfizer. Prof. Dr. Christoph Klein was awarded at this year’s German Cancer Congress for his pioneering work in the identification and  metastasis of a tumour in the field “Experimental Research“. The concept developed by him on tumour progression demonstrates the causative relationship between molecular differences that have arisen in the course of evolution, and the diagnostic and therapeutic heterogenity of tumour disease. The concept forms an important basis for personalised diagnostics and therapy.
