Strategic Partnership between Geneart and Qiagen
Geneart AG located in BioPark Regensburg has formed a partnership with the Dutch holding society Qiagen N.V. to market synthetic mammalian genes. Both companies listed on the stock market complete each other in their core businesses of the manufacturing of genes and gene libraries and profit reciprocally from their international marketing networks and customer relationships. The market for synthetic genes has an estimated volume of 50 – 63 million Euro and is growing annually by at least 30 %.

Geneart expands in Gewerbepark Regensburg
The Regensburg company Geneart AG is making space for further growth. The company has now in addition to its location of birth in BioPark Regensburg a second leg location in Gewerbepark Regensburg - the Vielberth Business Group. Geneart has with both locations over 4,000 m2 in office and laboratory space and created further opportunities for expansion for its rapid growth.

Current Business Report 2007 BioRegio Regensburg
With the start of the New Year BioPark Regensburg GmbH has presented its new business figures for the region. According to this report the number of companies in East Bavaria is stabile at 40 and the number of employees has risen from 1,703 to 2,429. With 22 leaseholders and 500 employees covering 12,000 sqm fully booked out, BioPark in Regensburg has reached the limits of its capacity.

Fraunhofer Project Group starting in BioPark Regensburg
Since autumn of 2007 the project group "Tumour and Metabolic Disease” of the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine (ITEM) in the BioPark has being taking up its work. Together with the Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Regensburg, the acquired complementarities of the competences in methodology and knowledge of illness of the partners in cooperation from Hanover and Regensburg will be combined.
