Geneart AG becomes part of US Life Technologies Corporation

Geneart AG, located in BioPark Regensburg, has concluded the sale of the majority of its shares. Applied Biosystems Deutschland GmbH now holds around 58 % of the company’s shares. This makes Geneart a part of Life Technologies Corporation, based in California/USA with a turnover in 2009 of 3.3 billion US dollars and around 9,000 employees.

Lisando starts up in BioRegio Regensburg

With the slogan “Lisando – Life Saving Proteins”, a new company has started up in Regensburg. Lisando GmbH is developing a completely new application to combat certain types of bacterial organisms that cause disease using nature as its model. The process could represent an alternative to treatment with antibiotics in the future.

Current Business Report 2009 for BioRegio Regensburg

Even in the crisis year of 2009, the development of the life science companies in BioRegio Regensburg demonstrated considerable stability. The new business figures presented for the region by BioPark Regensburg show a slight increase in the number of companies in East Bavaria to 42, whilst the number of employees decreased slightly to 2.503.
