Open Day 2019

With a festive event and 150 guests of honor and an open day BioPark Regensburg GmbH celebrated the company’s anniversary. The guests were able to see on-site for themselves the 20-year success story. From 1999 to 2019 the ground space occupied has increased threefold, the number of companies fourfold and the number of jobs by even tenfold.

The Open Day on Saturday 13 July 2019 offered interested visitors a view behind the biotech curtains. A varied program was offered in all three buildings. In addition to exciting laboratory tours and leaseholder information stands, people could experience the technology and ideas of tomorrow in the so-called Inno-Truck, a two-level exhibition vehicle. People visiting Open Day were able to find out information about the various fields of biotechnology, medical engineering, diagnostics and analytics as well as health.

How is a new medicine developed? What are technical enzymes? How do you look for new active substances for a medicine? These questions were able to be answered right up close. A high point was once again the scavenger hunt for young scientists through the three buildings at the end of which a small so-called agar garden made in the laboratory was the enticing prize that you can simply watch while it grows for a year.

The BioPark team kicked off the open day with Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer, mayor and board of directors of BioPark GmbH.

The visitors were able to visit the companies and institutes at BioPark.

In particular, the laboratory tours were in great demand.

The visitors were impressed by the high technical equipment.

For the „healthy“ physical well-being was taken care of at the Smoothie Bar for young and old.

At the „Innotruck“ the technology of today and tomorrow was demonstrated very clearly.

The KITA bamBIOni in the BioParktook care of the very small visitors.

Very popular in the scavenger hunt were again the agar gardens (vegetatively propagated sundew).
