New funding guideline "GO-Bio next"
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has launched the new funding guideline "GO-Bio next". This is intended to increase start-up activities in the life sciences and accelerate the transfer from basic research to application.
"GO-Bio next“ aims to make the transfer of research results from academic institutions into practice more efficient and faster. The researchers should be prepared for the commercial exploitation of their research results by founding a company and be supported in the sustainable further development of the research project in a spin-off.
Who is funded?
The funding is aimed at scientists who drive innovative R&D approaches in the field of life sciences with high commercialization potential and develop them to a level of maturity that enables a successful spin-off.
Funding phases and conditions
The measure is designed to run continuously with two deadlines per year (March 15th / September 15th). The application process is two-stage.
Sketches for the first selection round can be submitted until September 15, 2024.
- The first phase supports the development of a proof of concept and the development of commercialization strategies. The work can be carried out on the university's premises and is funded at 100% for a maximum of 3 years.
- In the second phase, the focus is on the sustainable development of the spun-off company through further research work and market launch preparations. A GmbH must be founded here and up to 50% can be funded for a maximum of 3 years.
We are happy to support you in submitting your application.
