Medical Institutions of the Region of Upper Palatinate-KU

medbo stands for "Medical Institutions of the Region of Upper Palatinate". At six locations in the entire Upper Palatinate – in Regensburg, Wöllershof, Parsberg, Cham, Weiden and Amberg – medbo operates institutions offering inpatient, partial-inpatient and outpatient services.  The Regional Hospital of Regensburg is a hospital with level II care and with approximately 2,400 employees the largest location in medbo. At the hospital, with 628 beds for inpatient treatment, there are currently 225 doctors and 915 nurses. 13,000 patients are treated annually in 6 clinics and 2 rest homes.

Specialties of the hospital include the fields of psychiatry, psychotherapy and neurology. There is also a specialist clinic for lung and bronchial health and a vocational college for nursing. Two cooperative clinics at the University of Regensburg are also part of medbo as is the Institute for Education and Personal Development (IBP), the largest institute for education in the health field in East Bavaria.
