Hospital St. John of God
The Barmherzige Brüder Hospital is a level II care hospital managed by the Barmherzigen Brüder in Regensburg. With 905 beds and approximately 3,500 employees it is the largest German Catholic hospital. As an academic teaching hospital at the University of Regensburg the hospital cooperates closely with the Uniclinic Regensburg and other teaching hospitals in Regensburg. The main location is on Prüfeninger Street and the focus of the hospital is above all in the field of ageing medicine. Paul Gerhardt House, put into operation in 2017, the replacement new building at the Evangelisches Hospital in Regensburg now provides the population of Regensburg with a state-of-the-art hospital. In addition to acute geriatrics at Paul-Gerhardt-House there is geriatric early rehabilitation, a geriatric day clinic as well as a protected area for patients with dementia. In addition, the hospital contains a special clinic for women, children and adolescents. The Mother-Child Clinic St. Hedwig is next to the University Clinic location of the Children’s Uniclinic East Bavaria (KUNO).
