Hospital Donaustauf

Donaustauf Hospital is a highly specialized hospital offering very extensive diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for respiratory disease and an independent department offering an acute service for patients with psychosomatic illness.There is a total of approximately 260 employees at the hospital. The department for respiratory medicine treats around 3500 inpatients (95 beds) and a further 1800 outpatients, whilst 250 patients (25 beds) receive treatment yearly in psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy.Furthermore the hospital has a specialized radiology department which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diverse respiratory illnesses, as well as a sleep laboratory for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related respiratory illnesses.

Additionally Donaustauf Hospital has been working as a teaching and research institution with the University of Regensburg since 1996 and established a center for clinical studies in 2004.
