Caritas Hospital St. Josef

The Caritas Hospital founded in 1950 leads 8 specialty departments and is a level II care hospital. It has currently over approximately 330 beds and is a place of employment for more than 900 people, of these 174 doctors and 405 nurses. As a cooperative and academic teaching hospital at the University of Regensburg it is networked closely with research and teaching at the University Clinic, which finds expression in numerous medical centers.  Since the certification as an Oncology Center in 2011, it particularly focuses on the treatment of tumors. The Caritas Hospital St. Josef together with the Uniclinic Regensburg forms the Oncology Center (UCC-R). 27 university clinics, departments, institutes and interdisciplinary centers work together here to treat patients using the latest scientific knowledge. At the same time a complex network structure is ensured so that the local specialist physicians and general practitioners as well as the specialist physicians at the partner clinics are linked in to the treatment and post-treatment care of illness.
