Evanium Healthcare develops IP-protected B2B product- and ingredient solutions based on secondary plant compounds for the food industry, the cosmetics sector and the pharmaceutical industry.

Secondary plant compounds, and polyphenols in particular, stand out as a particularly attractive segment due to their numerous positive health effects on the one hand, and the steadily increasing consumer interest in plant-based health products on the other. However, due to the often problematic physicochemical properties as well as insufficiently researched biological activity of many flavonoids, these substances still represent a major challenge for the industry.

Through industry-specific, tailor-made approaches with vertically integrable solutions along the entire supply chain, Evanium opens up access to a pool of novel, plant-based ingredients, which posess great potential for product innovation for the companies.

Core technologies and services

With the help of the FLAVOSOLV platform technology, the properties of problematic plant extracts and poorly soluble and barely permeable secondary plant compounds can be significantly improved. The ingredients are formulated in the form of a novel ternary cyclodextrin complex, which enables excellent solubility, stability and compressibility with a simultaneously high drug load.

In addition, polyphenolic active ingredients are being researched for novel applications and their biological activity is being investigated by means of in-silico and in-vitro screening.

Evanium offers both targeted contract development and joint development cooperations to improve existing ingredients, as well as the development of own branded plant-based ingredients using FLAVOSOLV technology for the partner companies.
